A 9am Sunday Mass (in addition to the 11am Mass) will begin from the First Sunday of Advent here in the parish. This is to evaluate if there is a genuine pastoral need for this, and it will be reviewed in the new year. In proceeding with this, we are mindful of the directive in the

“Instruction on Eucharistic Worship” which, dealing with ‘The celebration of Sunday […] in parishes’ states that: “As regards the time and number of Masses to be celebrated in parishes, the good of the parish community should be kept in mind and the number of Masses should not be so multiplied as to weaken the effectiveness of the pastoral effort; for example: if through the great number of Masses, only small groups of the faithful were to come to each of the Masses in a church that can hold a great number of people. […]”

As many church documents highlight, the Sunday celebration must reflect the dignity and solemnity of the Eucharist; involve the active participation of the faithful and must be done worthily. This will be considered during the evaluation in the new year.
