WEEKLY REFLECTION
Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
The next few weeks are laden with sports competitions such as the FIFA World Cup, Wimbledon, Tour de France, the Commonwealth Games and a host of others. The Pope’s intention for June is for the value of sports, and that it may be an instrument of peace, encounter and dialogue among cultures and nations, and that the values of respect, solidarity and personal growth be promoted.
With the World Cup underway with two constituent countries of our lovely UK competing and winning their opening games (hurray!), we are reminded of the importance of teamwork. In sports, success is greater when the team works together. Even in individual sports (tennis, cycling, MotorGP, etc) teamwork is still needed, because the athlete relies on the coach, the physio, the dietician, etc and others working in the background for a common goal: success.
As followers of Christ, here in Ellesmere Port, may we be united under one captain: Jesus Christ! Just as different players on a team play different positions, but with a common objective, may we all use our different skills and talents with the common objective of following Christ and His teachings, and spreading the Gospel far and wide. Even the ‘least’ of us in this parish has a valuable and valued contribution to make to the life of the parish. As our parish community day comes up on Saturday July 4th from 9.30am, may we turn out in our numbers and work with a common goal.

Thank you to all those Parishioners who support the Living Faith quarterly publication. We have been advised that there will be a price increase from July to £4.95 a copy. The books will be available in the Piety stall in the next couple of weeks so please collect your copy from there and put your donation in the Piety stall wall box.
THANK YOU TO BRIAN CALLISTER
We would like to offer our immense THANKS to Brian Callister who has looked after the Parish Centre for over 35 years, amongst the many other things he does in our Parish. Brian has decided to retire at the end of June and enjoy a much deserved rest. In view of this we are looking for somebody who can take over from Brian to maintain the Parish centre, checking fire alarms, etc. If anybody has a few hours a week to spare please contact the Parish Office for further information.
PARISH BBQ
There will be a Parish BBQ after 11am Mass on Sunday 28th June following the Children’s Choir Mass. This is open to all Parishioners, so please come along and enjoy some social time together.

• Railings refresh and maintenance
• Other tasks, depending on the number of volunteers available
A sign-up sheet will be available at the back of the church. Please indicate which activity you would like to help with and how much time you can offer—whether that's a few hours or the whole day. Every contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated. You can also sign up via the Parish Website.
Thank you for helping us care for and maintain our church and parish community.
EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION
Thank you to all who joined our Eucharistic Procession two weeks ago. Our thanks go to the Altar servers, marshals, stewards carrying the canopy etc. It was lovely to see so many Parishioners both young, in prams and older parishioners, in wheelchairs, processing through the streets of our town whilst praying and praising God present in the Blessed Sacrament.
