I reproduce here, in full, the Announcement made at the Sunday Masses last weekend informing parishioners of those appointments made by the Bishop that impact Ellesmere Port and Hooton:

‘Mindful of the needs of the Diocese, Bishop Mark has appointed me parish priest of Our Lady, Queen of Peace, Wythenshawe, comprised of the Churches of St Anthony and St Elizabeth. This new appointment will take effect the first weekend in September. I will leave Ellesmere Port at the
end of August. Father Godlove Amungwa, presently Assistant Priest at Saint Vincent’s, Altrincham, will become the Parochial Administrator of Our Lady, Star of the Sea and Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. Father
Louis Maggiore will become the Parish Priest of Saint Saviour and Saint Mary of the Angels in addition to Christ the King, Bromborough pending a review of the parish boundaries to create one Ellesmere Port Parish. In the meantime, Father Godlove will have the pastoral care of Saint Saviour and the associated primary school working with Father Louis during this time.
