Fr Godlove Amungwa

Parochial Administrator

Fr Godlove Amungwa hails from Bambui in Cameroon. After studying at the University of Buea, he began his priestly formation in Spain at the Facultad de Teología of the Universidad de Navarra, with parish placements at Parròquia Santa María de Gràcia in Barcelona. Fr Godlove has a deep love for parish life, preaching and accompanying people in their faith at every stage of life. He has a particular interest in helping people feel truly at home in the Church, especially those who are new, returning after some time away, or exploring the Catholic faith for the first time.

Away from formal ministry he enjoys a wide range of sports, including tennis, football, padel, volleyball, swimming, boxing, Jeet Kune Do, Aikido, cycling and table tennis. He also enjoys video games, reading, music and travelling, and especially loves learning languages and meeting people from different cultures.

Deacon Antony Nuttall

Parish Deacon

Deacon Tony Nuttall was born in Birkenhead and baptised at St Anne’s Church, Rock Ferry. After his family moved to Ellesmere Port, he attended St Saviour’s RC Infant and Junior Schools in the then new parish of St Saviour, Great Sutton, before moving on to Our Lady’s Secondary Modern School, which later became Ellesmere Port Catholic High School. He left school in 1976 to begin further study and work in the chemical industry.

Tony spent 43 years working in the chemical industry in a variety of roles before retiring in 2019. He is married to Sandra and they have three children and four grandchildren, all of whom are a great joy to him. Family, parish and community life are central to his vocation and to the way he serves in the parish.

After a time of prayer and discernment about God’s call, Tony began formation for the Permanent Diaconate at St Mary’s College, Oscott, in 2017. On 16 July 2022 he was ordained deacon by Bishop Mark Davies in Shrewsbury Cathedral. As a deacon he assists at the liturgy, preaches, serves the poor and helps to build bridges between the Church and everyday life.

Sarah Hardick

Parish Secretary

Sarah grew up in Our Lady’s parish and attended the parish schools before leaving for university in London. She later lived in the Midlands for a number of years, training and working first as an accountant and then also as a florist. In 2012 she returned to Ellesmere Port, where she continued her accountancy career until retiring in 2024.

Her long experience in both finance and people-facing roles has given her a strong sense of organisation, care and attention to detail, which she now brings to her work in the parish. Sarah has a particular heart for helping the parish to be welcoming, well-run and supportive of all who come through its doors.

In her spare time Sarah enjoys travelling, exploring new places and spending time in nature. She also enjoys keeping active by going to the gym and values the balance that exercise, creativity and faith bring to her life. These interests help to sustain her as she supports the day-to-day life of the parish community.
