Parish Social Projects
We currently have around 53 volunteers, but to truly make an impact, we need to double or even triple that number. With 8,000 Catholics in Ellesmere Port and Hooton, there’s incredible potential for more people to get involved! This isn’t just about having enough volunteers to run these projects—it’s about ensuring that no one feels overburdened. We want volunteering to be an experience you enjoy and look forward to, rather than a stressful commitment. If you’d like to help, please get in touch at parishoffice@ourladystar.co.uk or call 0151 355 5877.

Volunteer Statement – Community Café - Hot Food Saturdays
Before I started helping at the community café, I didn’t have any work experience and didn’t really know what I was good at. Volunteering here has helped me learn simple but important skills like talking to customers, working with others, and keeping things clean and organised.
I’ve also grown more confident. I’ve learned how to handle responsibility, show up on time, and be part of a team. It’s made me feel proud of myself and shown me that I can do more than I thought.
This experience is helping me get ready for real work in the future. I now have skills I can put on a CV, people who can support me, and a better idea of what kind of job I might enjoy.
