First Holy Communion

17tH MAY 2026

By Father Godlove

Congratulations to Ryan, Emily, Thomas, Immanuel, Ashin, Rosin, Eloisa and Travis (from St Saviour’s School) who made their First Holy Communion last Sunday at the 11am Mass. It was a joyous occasion for the parish, as these young and active parishioners took this important step in their faith and sacramental journey. We keep praying for them as they continue being involved in the life of the parish, and we also pray for the other young parishioners who are currently undergoing formation to celebrate First Forgiveness and First Holy Communion in the weeks and months ahead. A big expression of gratitude to the Headteacher and Staff of St Saviour’s for all the work put in the above first communicants’ sacramental preparation. To the families, thank you for bringing our young parishioners to church and encouraging them to live and lead an active sacramental life.

As a reminder, the preparation and reception of the sacraments are a moment of joy for the Christian community and should naturally flow from active participation in the life of the parish, since these sacraments are nurtured and lived out within the context of a Christian community. This is why the children are undergoing four stages of preparation which include catechesis, weekly reflections to be shared with the clergy, Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation and active participation in one of the groups of the parish. The children must be actively engaged in all four areas before receiving the sacraments. Find here, some photos from the FHC of the 8 parishioners (shared with permission):
